Founder

John Zhang

Zhong Zhang is a dynamic high school graduate whose journey spans across continents and cultures. Born in Canada and spending seven formative years in China, Zhong was immersed in a bilingual environment, learning both Chinese and English. This unique upbringing equipped him with a deep understanding of diverse cultures and languages.

After moving to the United States, Zhong faced the challenges of adjusting to a new culture and overcoming a language barrier, with Chinese being his first language. Through determination and active community engagement, he successfully navigated these obstacles, leveraging his experiences to make a meaningful impact.

Passionate about giving back, Zhong founded Assistness, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting those with some of the same challenges he faced. His leadership and vision have been instrumental in transforming Assistness into a thriving organization, laying a strong foundation for future growth and continued support for others. As he embarks on his next chapter at NYU, New York University, where he will study finance, Zhong is excited to blend his global perspective with his academic pursuits. Outside of his professional and academic endeavors, he enjoys music and friends.
